FALLING IN REVERSE SINGER RONNIE RADKE ON TURNING HIS LIFE AROUND

While serving time in a Nevada prison, Falling in Reverse singer (and former Escape the Fate frontman) Ronnie Radke turned to music as an outlet to get his deepest frustrations out and turned his life around.
On the band’s just-released debut album, ‘The Drug in Me Is You,’ Radke and his bandmates find themselves with a sound that brings together spunky pop-punk and harmonious post-hardcore, buoyed by Radke’s reflective, deeply intimate lyrics and musings. Musically, the release comes together seamlessly, with Radke serving as frontman, leading a gifted cast that includes Jacky Vincent (lead guitar), Derek Jones (rhythm guitar), Mika Horiuchi (bass guitar) and Ryan Seaman (drums, percussion).
Crammed in a bus on the way to a secret show in Anaheim, Calif., Radke checked in with Loudwire for an exclusive interview. In the following Q&A, he talks about his time in prison — where he served a year and a half for failing to report to a parole officer after a serious of crimes and misdemeanors — as well as the band’s debut album and more.
What was it like coming out of the Las Vegas music scene?
It’s hard, because it’s a one-in-a-million chance. Back in the day, I don’t think record labels were looking at Las Vegas too much for new acts, until the Killers came out. I think the Killers are partially responsible for us getting signed, because people started looking towards Las Vegas for new music. First there was the Killers, then Panic at the Disco and now us. There’s not as much music out there. It’s not like the scene in Los Angeles or New York.
How did your experience in prison motivate you to pursue Falling in Reverse?
Well, when I was in prison, and I got in touch with a couple of friends in the band online, and I called them up and asked them if they’d be interested in starting something. They said, “Yeah, when you’re out, we’ll do this.” I figured that my life could either go the good way or the bad way from there. But, it couldn’t go any further down. I decided to stop doing drugs and all that crazy partying, and I stopped hanging out with the wrong people.
When I got out, everyone was looking at me. I wonder how many people have been watching to see if I would do drugs again or go crazy. I haven’t gone that route. I don’t even think about going that route. I’d rather stick to one main focus, and a positive focus, like touring and playing out and staying out of as much trouble as possible.
Going into this summer’s Warped Tour, who were you most excited to check out?
I love A Day to Remember. They really had that style down of doing heavy songs mixed with pop songs when nobody was doing that style of music. When they came out, bands were doing either really heavy or really poppy songs, never one pop song and one heavy song on same album. I think they created a genre, and I [was] honored to be on the same bill as them. They perform really well and in their own style, and that’s unique. I also like Black Veil Brides. I got a chance to meet up with them before the tour.
How did you take Falling in Reverse in a different musical direction than Escape the Fate?
With Escape the Fate, I was pushing for synths and keyboards and stuff, and everybody was in disagreement with that. They didn’t want to do that. So, I finally got the direction I wanted to go on this record, with synthesizers. With Escape the Fate, I backed down. So, I finally get to do it, and it’s my own vision now, and it looks like it’s doing well.
Tell me about the meaning behind the album’s title, ‘The Drug in Me Is You.’
We named it that because it was basically me, talking to myself. It’s me, looking in the mirror, saying, “I am my own worst energy. I do the worst damage to myself— more than anybody else can to do me.” It’s obviously from my past experiences.
How long did it take to record the album?
Two and a half months. I live in Hollywood now, which is better, because nobody knows where I live. I make sure of that. I only go out once in a while. But, this album took a while, because I was getting adapted to getting out of prison. I can’t explain it to you unless you’ve been in that situation. It’s like coming back from war, and you have to get used to civilization again. They’re like animals in there. I saw a lot of bad things. I had to get used to human interaction. I didn’t know how to have conversations for longer than one minute, so had to get used to that. I had to go to into the studio and interact with everybody. But we did it, and it felt good.
What’s the best thing about your experience, so far, with Falling in Reverse?
Just the fact I can think clearly and actually hold a conversation with people. Before, I wouldn’t be able to talk to anybody in a civilized manner. I was speaking a hundred miles a second about nothing, and nobody wanted to talk to me. I was crazy. And I was too much of a diva. I’m glad I’m not like that anymore.
What’s next for Falling in Reverse?
Taking over the world. [Laughs] We’re going to tour the U.K. soon, hopefully the beginning of next year, and hopefully go to Australia.

Pierce The Veil sign to Fearless Records

Pierce The Veil sign to Fearless RecordsPierce The Veil have left Equal Vision Records and signed with Fearless Records. Read the official statement from the band below.
Hey everyone, Vic here!  We have a very big announcement.  After 7 years of being with the amazing people at Equal Vision Records, we have decided to part ways with the label and move on.  We will dearly miss the staff and everyone there who have truly become our friends after all these years.  When we first signed with EVR, we had heard about their strong reputation for being more of a "family" than a corporate label, and I can honestly say that this has remained true to this day.  You have supported us from day one, and we will forever be grateful to you for giving us a chance and changing our lives.  So, to everyone at EVR, we would just like to humbly say thank you for all of the hard work that you have done over the years.  You continue to inspire us and we have nothing but love for you always.
Since we formed Pierce The Veil, we have had the strong mindset of "progress or die."  We feel that if we don't keep pushing ourselves to do new things and get better at what we do, then there is no point in doing it.   We are always looking forward to the future and we can't wait to share it with all of you.

So with all this said, we are very proud to announce that we have signed with Fearless Records!!  And just like we do with our fans, we never take anyone's support for granted, so big thanks to the staff and everyone at Fearless, we are truly excited and grateful to be a part of this label.  We've got tons of amazing tours and new music ahead of us!  PTV is currently writing and will be doing some AWESOME tours in the Fall, including South America, Europe, and a US Co-Headliner with Miss May I that we're calling the "No Guts No Glory Tour!"  Can't wait for you to hear the new stuff and to see all of your sexy faces at the shows!
Much Love,
-PTV

Metallica announce new album details

Metallica have announced that their forthcoming album recorded with Lou Reed will be released in the autumn.
The 10-track album, titled Lulu will be released on October 31. Many of the details have been kept firmly under wraps, but the story behind the unlikely collaboration has been detailed in a lengthy post on www.loureedmetallica.com.

"Lulu was inspired by German expressionist writer Frank Wededkind's plays Earth Spirit and Pandora's Box, which tell a story of a young abused dancer's life and relationships and are now collectively known as the Lulu Plays," reads the statement. "Since their publication in the early 1900's, the plays have been the inspiration for a silent film (Pandora's Box, 1929), an opera, and countless other creative endeavours.
"Originally the lyrics and musical landscape were sketched out by Lou for a theatrical production in Berlin, but after coming together with the 'Tallica boys for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame concerts in New York in 2009 all guilty parties knew they wanted to make more music together.
"Lou was inspired enough by that performance to recently ask the band to join him in taking his theatrical Lulu piece to the next level. So, starting in early May of this year, we were all camped out recording at HQ studios in Northern California, bringing us to today and 10 complete songs."

OK so we all know why any guy would go to this tour lol:)

Escape The Fate guitarist steps away from touring lineup

Escape The Fate guitarist steps away from touring lineup
Escape The Fate have announced that their guitarist, Monte Money, is taking a break from touring with the band. Read their announcement below.
DGC/Interscope Records band Escape The Fate welcomes back bassist Max Green into the band’s touring fold along with new guitarist Kevin Thrasher, substituting for Monte Money, who has decided to step away from life on the road for now.  The two join singer Craig Mabbitt and drummer Robert Ortiz to fill out the group.

Green, who took the first half of 2011 to get healthy and recover from addiction says, “I’m feeling great and am glad to be back with my band.  Escape The Fate is my life.  This is where I belong.”   Thrasher, who previously toured for years with Love Hate Hero, is excited to hit the road Escape The Fate.  Although Money will still be a creative force in the band, Thrasher has taken over lead guitar touring duties.  Known for his shredding, powerful playing, he is an enthralling addition.

Wow so crazy to watch this band fall apart, what band whos only been around for five years has already had a lead singer change, max gone for 6months, now monte gone from toruing wont be suprised if they get all new members and still keep the name ronnie made this band what it is today, tho the new sounds pretty decent its script written by other artist and producers

Corey Taylor wants to form supergroup with Duff McKaga

Corey Taylor has revealed that he would love to form a supergroup with Duff McKagan.
The Slipknot/Stone Sour vocalist worked with the former Guns N' Roses bassist when he auditioned for the role of the new Velvet Revolver singer.
The vocalist told Fuse TV that: "Me and Duff will probably do some stuff later. Me and him, we really hit it off, and we're really close, and we started writing songs together, and we've got some really good stuff."
"So, you never know," he added. "There might be a mystery supergroup out there - me and Duff and some other weird people - making some weird music that people are, like: 'What? That's them?' So, yeah, maybe. We'll see what happens."
Would you like to hear a collaboration between these two musicians? Would Corey have made a good Velvet Revolver frontman? Let us know in the comments section below..

DESIGN THE SKYLINE bassist fired just hours before debut album release... Written by James Zahn

ETHAN WHITE just may be the luckiest guy in all of music right now. With the debut album from DESIGN THE SKYLINE arriving at retail in just under an hour for our East Coast readers, the 16-year-old bassist has been released from the band. While this might seem like a horrible thing to happen for someone about to live the dream, fear not, Dear Readers - DESIGN THE SKYLINE is terrible.

As the situation has been playing out over Facebook and Twitter this evening, followers have been able to see the public back-and-forth via the increasing world of people sharing information that shouldn't be online. That's Outrageous! have kicked out their guitarist, David Newton

That's Outrageous! have kicked out their guitarist, David Newton. Read a blog from Newtonregarding the situation below.
2 strikes and you’re out!
That’s Outrageous! kick out guitaristWell, can’t exactly say I saw this coming.  After being to referred to as one of the members of the core three, with my former fellow guitarist and bass player as well as the constant talk of problems in another band members performance I was kicked out of That’s Outrageous!  I finally confronted the bass player after being ignored by the members for over a week and he gave me the news.  I would no longer be playing guitar for T.O! I am a drummer… not a guitarist was the reasoning.  While I am mainly a drummer, I’ve molded myself into quite the guitarist over the time I’ve been given. If you’ve seen us live I’m sure you’d agree.
I would love to put everyone on blast, but I’ll be the bigger man.
Thank you for all of your support.
I will be announcing a new project in the upcoming months.
David
